Island myth, or guarded secret…

                                …destiny lures Jonathan home.

Jonathan’s ten-year relationship with Paul has lost its spark, so in a last-ditch effort to rekindle the passion they once shared, Jonathan rents a seaside cottage in his boyhood hometown: Tybee Island, Georgia, a quaint, tiny coastal islet he abandoned long ago.

However, the romantic surprise backfires royally when his partner rushes off to woo a high-profile client in Chicago, leaving Jonathan alone and brokenhearted. He tries drowning his agony on the beach with loads of alcohol, but nothing seems to ease his gut-wrenching pain.

That’s when Jonathan notices a swimmer caught in a riptide, desperate to stay afloat. Without hesitation, the West Coast transplant races to the water’s edge, trudging through seawater before diving headlong into the raucous surf. Soon, he too, falls victim to the fierce undertow, struggling to reach the surface and fearing the worst.

Then a mighty force slams into him from behind, causing him to blackout. When he regains consciousness, Jonathan realizes he is surrounded by horrified beachcombers, all staring at his half-naked body.

How did Jonathan get to shore?

What happened to the drowning man?

And, who is the mysterious old woman gaping at him from afar?

Eyes For You

“I killed him.”

Thus, begins the emotional evening of Geoff and Alan Marks-Green’s visit to Atlanta, where Geoff is to write a feature article of the once-exquisite hotel, the Atlanta Biltmore, for Architectural Digest. The trip begins rocky when the desk clerk tries to give the young, gay married couple a room with two beds, rather than the king suite they reserved. Mishap averted, Geoff and Alan begin a cursory tour of the mammoth structure on their own, before a more formal tour scheduled the next day.

The couple comes upon a spectacular, large portrait in a gilded frame of a stunning young man in historical military dress. While admiring the painting of William Gabriel Daschle, a screen actor who appeared in Gone with the Wind, they are joined by the former manager of the Biltmore. Charles is a peculiar old man wearing frayed, rumpled clothing, with rheumy eyes and dark spots covering his hands.

After inviting Geoff and Alan to his rooftop apartment, Charles shares a fascinating story of wistful, forbidden love, of corporate greed…and of an endearing loss that will forever leave its indelible mark on both young men.

In this exciting collection you will find unforgettable stories that place lesbian and gay characters back into American history. Fourteen talented authors have represented events in the historical timeline from the 1600’s Salem Witch Trials to 1970’s hijacker DB Cooper. Many tales are entertaining, heartwarming, and positive, but a few are dark and tragic.
The editors hope that these stories remind readers, especially today’s youth, that we deserve to have our place in the narrative of humankind.

He purchases binoculars, adds a camera with zoom lens and spirals into the depths of voyeurism before devising a plan to finally meet the man of his dreams. An evening of easy conversation and lustful glances ends far too soon, but not before Tony plants the most amazing kiss ever on Kevin’s lips, leaving him yearning for more. When Tony shows up at Kevin’s apartment the next night all bloody and bruised, Kevin offers him instant refuge…and his bed. But not all is what it seems. Police burst into Kevin’s home, searching for the killer of a man in the penthouse across the street—Tony’s so-called partner. Will Kevin’s pleas of innocence save him from this horrible turn of events?

Pure Artistry – Carol McKenzie

Cameron Bracy, an established Certified Public Accountant enrolls in a drawing class at a local university to relieve stress. Just out of a heterosexual relationship, and thinking he’s straight, he meets a man at the class and denies the chemistry he feels for the gorgeous hunk, Eli Thompson. Eli, who also has just broken up with a male friend, is drawn to Cameron and attempts to show him through a series of experiments that gay sex is hot.

Safe Word – Alex Morgan

The naked body of a young man is found as Provincetown prepares for Mates weekend, a popular leather fetish gathering. The police suspect a random murder, but Corey Shaw, brought in to help with the investigation, suspects it was an extreme BDSM session that went out of control. In a sea of muscular, leather-clad Masters and Slaves, he realizes hidden urges in an environment where every fantasy can be fulfilled, but he must set aside his sadomasochism desires in order to locate someone who takes the bondage fetish to the ultimate extreme. 1. Having both read and thoroughly enjoyed ‘Pretty Boy Dead’ I am really looking forward to ‘The Deadwood Murders’. Are you still working on this book and do you have any idea about a publication date?

    1. Thank you for reaching out to me, Sharon! I am finishing the last portion of The Deadwood Murders manuscript, which is scheduled for release in early 2018 by Lethe Press. Thank you, also for your very kind remarks; I am so glad you’ve enjoyed Pretty Boy Dead. I have a novella that was released late last year that has a light mystery/suspense theme, and gay romance titled Prince of the Sea, also released by Lethe Press. Hope you enjoy!
